Kathua Admin clarifies on encroachment concerns over
Paddy Procurement Mandi Bajwal
KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 17: In response
to recent media reports and concerns raised by farmers regarding alleged
encroachment on the Paddy Procurement Mandi in Bajwal, the District
Administration of Kathua has issued a clarification.
A team from the Agriculture
Department, led by Chief Agriculture Officer Sanjeev Rai Gupta and Tehsildar
Kathua Vikram Kumar visited the site under the direction of Deputy Commissioner
Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas.
During the visit, the farmers were
reassured that the Mandi would not be relocated and instead the administration
is soon going to initiate improvement and upgrading of the facility. The
up-gradation plan would include enhanced facilities and strengthening of the
existing structures to better serve the farming community.
The District Administration has
emphasized its commitment to supporting the farmers and ensuring their welfare.
The public, especially the farmers, were urged to rest assured that no proposal
exists to shift the Paddy Procurement Mandi Bajwal, and all efforts are focused
on enhancing the infrastructure and services at the current location.

farming community.
