Local admin issues clarification on News Report regarding 135 Ft
Border Fencing in Tehsil Ramgarh
SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 06: Responding to
a news report published in a section of press regarding the ongoing works
related to 135 ft border fencing in Tehsil Ramgarh, the local administration
has issued a clarification after thorough investigation under the direction of
Deputy Commissioner.
“The land acquisition process for
the 135 ft border fencing in Tehsil Ramgarh has been completed according to the
legal procedures. The final awards were issued by the Collector Land
Acquisition (Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vijaypur) on the dates specified in the
report provided by the Tehsildar, Ramgarh. These lands were subsequently
transferred to the Border Security Force (BSF) for National Security and Defense
purposes.
It is important to emphasize that
the BSF authorities had permitted local farmers to continue cultivation on the
land under the 135 ft border fencing until the construction of the Ditch Cum
Bundh (DCB) commenced. This construction was initiated on 28 August 2024 due to
heightened security concerns.
Additionally, to ensure that the
local farmers are not adversely impacted, the BSF authorities have put on hold
the construction of the tunnel in the area until the current harvest is
completed. This decision reflects the BSF's commitment to balancing national
security with the welfare of local farmers, allowing them to complete their
harvest uninterrupted.
The claim of irregularity or unfair
treatment to the local populace is unfounded. All legal protocols have been
strictly followed, and rightful compensation has been provided to the
landowners as per the final awards.”
