DC Poonch takes stock of preparedness for Shri Buddha

Reviews provision of facilities being made for
Pilgrims
POONCH, JUNE 28: In preparation for the upcoming Shri Buddha
Amarnath Ji Yatra-2024, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary visited
the Buddha Amarnath Ji Shrine at Mandi and discussed arrangements with the
temple management Committee and government functionaries.
The management Committee headed by Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati
Ji projected several requirements while seeking foolproof security
arrangements, provision of safe drinking water, sanitation, lighting and other essential
preparations for the annual pilgrimage.
While giving instructions to stakeholder departments, the DC
emphasised on putting in place all necessary arrangements to avoid any
inconvenience to the pilgrims.
The Deputy Commissioner took stock of the arrangements
being made for Langers, cleanliness, toilet facilities and sanitation within
the Mandi Mandir Complex.
He directed the Executive Engineer, Power
Development Department to make proper arrangements of lighting around the
temple and install high mast lights to facilitate movement of
pilgrims after sunset.
The Public Health Engineering Department was asked to
install a water borewell inside the temple within the next 10 days to provide
adequate water supply during the Yatra. The Public Works Department was
directed to immediately complete the ongoing construction work inside the
temple.
The Block Development Officer
Mandi was directed to ensure the cleanliness of the temple premises,
including all the bathrooms.
Tehsildar Mandi, Commander BSF, Ashfaq Hussain, Xen PWD, Poonch,
Xen PDD, SDO BSNL, Deepak, besides committee members of Shri Budha
Amarnath Ji Mandir Mandi, AEE's, JE's and other concerned officers/officials
were present.
