Enthusiastic Voters' response marks
first day of home voting in Rajouri
RAJOURI, MAY 19:
The first day of the home voting was marked by an enthusiastic participation
from the electorate in 84 Nowshera AC, 85 Rajouri AC, 86 Budhal and 87
Thanamandi AC falling in 3-Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency.
It is for the first
time that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has provided the facility of
home voting for the elderly and Persons with Disabilities in the 2024 Lok Sabha
elections.
The Voters above 85
years of age and Persons with 40% Disabilities (PwDs) can avail the optional
home voting facility.
Out of a total of
1155 voters, as many as 823 people availed the home voting facility on the
first day and cast their vote from the comfort of their homes.
This home voting is
being conducted for three days, providing voters with ample time and
opportunity to exercise their right to vote. The local authorities have worked
diligently to ensure a smooth and secure electoral process.
