Joint enforcement drive conducted in Jammu
North to curb traffic violations
JAMMU, APRIL 11: A joint enforcement drive was carried out today
in various parts of Jammu North with to ensure compliance with the Motor
Vehicles Act and promote road safety among the public.
The drive, organised by the District Administration with
participation of the Motor Vehicles Department, Traffic Police and Police
Department, focussed on curbing violations and spreading awareness regarding
traffic rules. Enforcement teams were deployed at multiple checkpoints to
inspect vehicles and educate commuters about safe driving practices.
During the course of the drive, around 500 vehicles were checked
at various locations. As many as 55 vehicles were e-challaned for different
offences under MV Act provisions. The total amount of fines expected from these
challans stands at ₹1,34,400.
In addition to enforcement action, the campaign emphasised
on-the-spot awareness. Motorists, especially drivers of light and passenger
vehicles, were sensitised about the importance of adhering to traffic laws to
ensure safety on roads.
The enforcement operation was jointly led by ARTO Flying Squad
Er. Bipen Singh Charak, DySP Traffic North Anubhuti and her team, Tehsildar
North Aman Kumar Anand and his staff, Motor Vehicle Inspector Azad Hussain, DTI
Showket Amin, SHO Janipur and team and MVTA Taranjot Singh.
