Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety in
Poonch
POONCH, MARCH 31: In a remarkable
display of religious fervor and community spirit, thousands of devotees in
Poonch District came together to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr. The celebrations were
marked by a vibrant sense of unity and enthusiasm, with participants from
various faiths joining in the festivities.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas
Kundal and SSP Poonch Shafkat Hussain, along with other officials from the
district administration and police, actively participated in the celebrations,
reinforcing the significance of communal harmony and religious tolerance.
The largest congregation took place
at Eid Gah in Poonch, where thousands of Muslims gathered to offer Eid prayers
in the morning.
In anticipation of the festivities,
the district administration has made comprehensive arrangements for security
and other essential services, ensuring a joyful and safe environment for all
participants.
Deputy Commissioners took the
opportunity to meet with devotees, including Imams and religious leaders, to
extend their heartfelt greetings. They highlighted that the festival symbolizes
devotion, charity, and the spirit of giving.
As a testament to the unity among
different faiths, individuals from Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christian
communities congratulated one another, shared sweets and celebrated Eid
together, exemplifying the essence of togetherness and mutual respect in the
