FSD Anantnag seizes 2172 KGs of suspected dates
ANANTNAG, MARCH 29: As part of its efforts to ensure the safe
and quality food for the general public, Food Safety Department Anantnag
raided a godown and seized 2172 kilograms of deteriorated dates belonging to
various brands. The estimated market value of the seized stock is Rs.
1,300,000.
The seizure was made on the basis of a complaint about the sale
of deteriorated dates.
During the raid, enforcement samples were taken from the seized
stock for further analysis. These samples will be sent to an NABL-accredited
laboratory for detailed examination to determine the exact quality and safety
of the dates.
The Food Safety Department remains committed to safeguarding
public health and ensuring that consumers have access to safe, wholesome, and
quality food products. The department urges all traders and consumers to report
any unsafe or substandard food items they may come across as part of our
collective responsibility to maintain food safety standards in the district.
