Trials for J&K Men’s Football Team underway for Swami
Vivekananda U-20 National Championship
JAMMU, MARCH 04: The selection trials
for the J&K Men’s Football Team, set to compete in the Swami Vivekananda
U-20 Men’s National Football Championship 2025, commenced today at Mini
Stadium, Parade, Jammu. The trials are being conducted under the supervision of
J&K Sports Council coaches.
The trials for Jammu Division
athletes will continue on March 4 and 5, following which the selection process
will shift to TRC Synthetic Football Turf, Srinagar, for Kashmir Division
players on March 10, 11, and 12. The final selection trials, featuring
shortlisted players from both divisions, will be held in Srinagar on March 17,
18, and 19 under the guidance of expert coaches from the Sports Council.
The selected players will undergo an
intensive coaching camp to prepare for the prestigious Swami Vivekananda U-20
Men’s National Football Championship, scheduled to be held in Narainpur,
Chhattisgarh, in April.
Following the remarkable performance
of Team J&K in the recently concluded Santosh Trophy, Secretary J&K
Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul instructed officials to ensure rigorous training,
top-notch facilities, and comprehensive technical support for the players. She
expressed confidence that, with proper preparation and guidance, the team will
excel on the national stage and bring laurels to J&K.
