Drug Control Officer inspects Medical Shops in Banihal
RAMBAN, FEBRUARY 09: In line with the
directives of the State Drugs Controller and the District Administration, Drug
Control Officer Ramban, Imtiyaz Ahmad, conducted inspections of medical shops
across various villages in Banihal, including Bankoot, Kaskoot, Nowgam,
Chereel, and Banihal Town.
The inspection aimed to ensure
compliance with regulations regarding the installation of CCTV cameras,
implementation of computerized billing systems, and maintenance of psychotropic
drug records.
During the inspections, two medical
shops were closed down for failing to comply with the provisions of the Drugs
and Cosmetics Act.
The inspecting team found that all
other medical establishments had installed CCTV cameras and adopted
computerized billing systems as mandated.
The Drug Control Officer emphasized
the importance of actively monitoring CCTV footage to ensure these systems
effectively deter any malpractice. The implementation of these measures is
expected to enhance transparency in transactions, improve inventory management,
and reinforce accountability within the district’s pharmaceutical sector.
The proactive approach of the Drug
Control Department will be remained continuous in district to safeguarding
public health and promoting ethical practices in the pharmaceutical trade. The
department will continue to regulate and monitor pharmaceutical activities to
prevent the misuse or unauthorized distribution of drugs, ensuring the
well-being of the public.
