GM reviews disbursement of
PMEGP cases sponsored by DIC
DODA, JANUARY
4: A meeting to review the implementation of Prime Minister’s Employment
Generation Programme (PMEGP) was convened today by General Manager District
Industries Centre (DIC) Paramjeet Singh.
The meeting
was attended by Lead District Manager Parveen Kumar; District Coordinator (GSS)
J&K Bank Bua Ditta and representatives of KVIB, Geotagging teams, and other
concerned departments.
Discussions
centered on the progress made in disbursing loans and sanctioning cases under
PMEGP. The Zonal Head of J&K Bank informed the chair that significant
progress has been achieved in loan disbursement for the current financial year,
and several new cases are under process. The chair directed banks to ensure
that no genuine case is rejected and that loans are disbursed promptly to
benefit the maximum number of unemployed youth.
Given the
large number of pending subsidy claims, it was decided that a separate meeting
would be held with branch heads to resolve issues related to rectification and
subsidy disbursement. This move aims to expedite pending claims and improve the
efficiency of the scheme.
In addition,
it was reported that 97 units of DIC Doda have been successfully geotagged in
the past month and a half. Subsidy adjustment letters amounting to Rs. 226.55
lakhs have already been issued to 97 beneficiaries. The chair instructed the
Geotagging team to expedite the process further to clear all pending cases by
the end of the month.
The meeting
concluded with a call for better coordination among stakeholders to achieve the
goals of PMEGP and support local entrepreneurship.
