Career Counselling Programme held at HKM College Bandipora
BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 05: The Educational Multimedia Research
Centre, Students Counselling and Guidance, and the Public Relations Centre
(PRC) of the University of Kashmir, in collaboration with HKM Government Degree
College (GDC) Bandipora, organised a career counselling program titled
'Negotiating Career: Aptitude, Opportunities and Prospects.'
The event aimed to equip students with essential guidance on
career choices and exploring future opportunities.
The program featured notable guest speakers, including Dr.
Ajaz-ul-Haque, Senior Producer at the Educational Multimedia Research Centre
(EMRC), University of Kashmir, Dr. Tariq Abdullah, Senior Producer at EMRC, and
Mir Zubair Rashid, Counsellor at the Public Relations Centre (PRC) of the
University of Kashmir.
Dr. Ajaz-ul-Haque spoke on the challenges of making career
choices and managing career-related confusion, emphasising the importance of
resilience, learning from failures, and discovering one’s true potential. He
advised students on the importance of staying focused and avoiding distractions
that could hinder their career paths.
Dr. Tariq Abdullah discussed the role of online education and
the SWAYAM Initiative, outlining various online platforms available for earning
academic credits and degrees, including MOOC (Massive Open Online Course)
programmes. He highlighted how these platforms are increasingly vital in the
current educational landscape.
Mir Zubair Rashid provided insights into career opportunities at
the University of Kashmir and beyond, outlining
various pathways students could explore both within and outside
the region to broaden their career prospects.
An enthusiastic interactive session followed the speeches, where
students actively engaged with the speakers, raising questions and seeking advice
on their career concerns. The session was
marked by high engagement, as students took advantage of the
opportunity for personalized guidance.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving students
inspired and better prepared to navigate their career journeys.
